Honoring my hometown with Prairie Rose

For those that have read the acknowledgements at the back of my books you know I always pour out my gratitude to my hometown, Landmark, Manitoba in those final pages.  A town four miles from our family farm where I went to school, played sports, hung out with friends and created memories that have inspired my stories.  When the idea for the 10th novel in Primrose came to me, there was only one name that seemed fitting, Prairie Rose.  The original name of the town that has given me endless inspiration.

Here is the description!

Will Rose abandon her fears and learn to love and trust Thatcher or will a lifetime of broken dreams take away her destiny?

At 23, Rose Vasquez had lived a life of fear and sacrifice. Buried by the ghosts of a tumultuous childhood, abandoned by her mother and left to maintain a crumbling home and care for her younger sister, Lily, the only one she could rely on was herself. Herself and her music, where she could escape the weight of her responsibilities and allow herself to dream of one day sharing her songs with the world.

With his tight wranglers and signature black Stetson, Thatcher Stevens was every woman’s rugged cowboy fantasy. A well-established rodeo heartbreaker and the new owner of The Pickled Pig, he didn’t believe in monogamy or the sanctity of marriage choosing to play the field rather than settle down.

When he’s asked to stand beside his father on his wedding day, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to a beautiful and mysterious young woman whose haunting voice captures his curiosity. A young woman who with just a single look, reveals a lifetime’s worth of pain for a childhood that never was. As Thatcher sets a course to discover more about Rose, he finds himself falling in love and wanting nothing more than to be the one to protect her and her sister from the ghosts of their past and to help Rose to make her musical dreams come true. But will Rose abandon her fears and learn to love and trust Thatcher or will a lifetime of broken dreams take away her destiny?

Prairie Rose is an inspiring tale of hope and the power of healing love. A story that will prove that with trust and tenacity anyone, no matter what you’ve been through, can they make their dreams come true?

Rose City Romance recap!

Fresh off my first romance novel conference and all I have to say it was worth the countless hours to get there!  Meeting new and excited readers and sharing my passion for what I write. Forging new friendships with authors I follow and respect.  Learning from industry professionals and receiving incredible validation that they path I've taken is the right one. It was a truly incredible three days!

❤️

Despite a 10 day road trip and all the excitement, April was a productive writing month.  Finishing the first draft in a new series that is set to start releasing next spring, sending it off to edit and starting the 15th book in the Primrose Series.  The end of the series is nearing, only two more books to write and this is one I've been excited to dive into.  A fiery rivals to lovers story, that brings some serious heat!  Of course there is complex emotion, deep dive into backstories and more but this one might be the spiciest book I've written.  (Sorry mom.)  Goal for May:  Finish the first draft of book 15, finish final edits on the first in the new series for next spring and get it off to my publisher!
