I just got back from New Zealand — and what a trip it was.
For those who don't know, I was born and raised there before making Australia home. I always wonder if I'll feel like a tourist when I go back, but honestly? It just feels normal. Familiar. Although apparently I've been in Australia long enough that I was mistaken for an Aussie more than once. As a proud Kiwi, I'm choosing not to think about that too hard.
I started the trip in Christchurch for A Romantic Adventure book signing. Meeting readers in person never gets old. The conversations, the laughs, the people who track you down at your table just to tell you they loved your book — it genuinely fills me up every single time.
Then I headed to Queenstown to host a writing retreat with the most incredible group of women. There's something about that place that just works. The mountains, the lake, the air — it all seems to crack something open in people. Writers arrived a little uncertain and left with a real plan, a spark back in their eyes, and I think a few of them left taller than they came in. That's the retreat magic and I am never tired of witnessing it.
I came home genuinely exhausted and absolutely buzzing. And now — the news I have been dying to share.
